Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine as they pick up and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads with these equipment. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap way of moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could function in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
