The Carriage
Like standard forklifts, the lifting attachment is able t be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible completely exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There is a large variety of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
The majority of telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some models have rotating carriages too. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Figuring out the load capacity of a telehandler is a much different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the unit is totally dependent on such things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Also, which lifting attachment plays an main role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics can be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to consider.
Telehandlers will often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could utilize to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the model in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
