How to Utilize a Lift truck
Forklifts are material handling machines which can transport loads. Normally, these machinery are utilized in some industries to transport heavy supplies in a wide variety of environments like airports, supply companies and warehouses. Anyone operating a forklift must be trained to cautiously use the machine. It is vital to be fully aware of one's surroundings while driving a forklift. Lift trucks are designed to run on gasoline, propane, diesel or batteries. Typical forklifts are common in a wide array of commercial applications and are not hard to use with proper training. The following steps outline the basics of operating a forklift:

1 Familiarize yourself with the levers which would be used to maneuver the load and to transport the item from one place to another. The levers could be found to the steering wheel's right side.
2 The first lever controls the up and down movement of the tines. Pulling the lever towards your body moves the forks up, and pushing the lever away from you moves them down. Tines should be kept near the ground except when unloading or loading.
3 The other two levers control the tilt as well as the left/right movement of the blades. The tines are designed to tilt between 15 and 30 degrees. It is recommended that you practice prior to picking up a load. Using the second lever, pull it towards you to tilt the tines back, and push it away from you to tilt the blades forward.
4 Lever number 4 is used to control the forks side to side movement from right to left. Simply move the lever towards where you want the forks to move: right to move the forks right and left in order to move the blades left.
5 Always approach a load cautiously. Lower the tines and drive forward cautiously until the tines slide under the cargo. Afterward lift the blades several centimeters by pulling the lever towards your body. If the cargo is top-heavy, you should tilt the tines backwards a little for balance.
6 Warn other people and employees when the lift truck is approaching by honking and take safety precautions by slowly taking corners and honking. Approach the place where you will be working cautiously. Control the levers to maneuver the cargo to where it is going. When the load is positioned, reverse gears and back away cautiously.
7 Lift trucks stop pretty much the same way as other kinds of vehicles. The brake is located to the left of the accelerator. Once stopped, put the gear into "park."
