Most mishaps are attributed to employees who are not properly trained. Employers are responsible for making certain that employees who are using the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business should develop and post in a visible place all forklift safety measures.
Instead of going through training because employees are required to, they must have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help workers understand the significance of proper training. Let them understand that they could injure or kill not only themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to make sure that all your employees undertake training seriously.
